Epson and Philips joint solution

Philips and Epson have joined forces in an innovative new solution that reflects a new era in home entertainment and digital photography. The PhotoViewer brings the traditional family experience of enjoying slide shows into the 21st century with an additional modern twist. The PhotoViewer makes it possible to watch photos on a large TV screen and print them while sitting back and relaxing on the sofa.

Each time a favourite photo appears in high-definition on the big screen, simply press the print button on the remote control and the attached Epson PictureMate PM 240 photo printer will print an immediate gift or memento. The PhotoViewer allows photos to be viewed in full 1080i high-definition on the television Viewing photos from the LCD screen on a digital camera, or huddling around a computer can make the experience of viewing digital photos with family or friends awkward and inconvenient.

The PhotoViewer creates a relaxed environment by using the large, high- definition TV screen. It is easy to install and connects directly to the TV with the supplied audio-video cables. The on-screen menu gives direct access to all photo viewing functions such as zoom, rotate or pause via the remote control. The Epson printer is easily connected with a standard USB cable and no further PC or software installations are required.

The PhotoViewer allows photos to be viewed in full 1080i high-definition on the television, directly from the memory cards of digital cameras, mobile phones or PDA s. It also works with USB mass storage devices and hard disks. Simply plug in the card and a photo slideshow immediately appears on the big screen. The remote control can be used to browse the photo collection and select favourite photos. To create additional atmosphere, MP3 s can be added to accompany the slideshow.
